In addition to Pantone’s Color(s) of the Year, they also release their top 10 colors for the upcoming fashion season. By doing this, they inform designers and shoppers alike, what will be popular and how to choose their pieces. Today’s article is on the hues to keep an eye out for and how you can incorporate them into your Spring/Summer wardrobe!
This pastel warm-toned pink was named as one of the Colors of the Year to counterbalance it’s partner in crime (read on to see it…). This typically feminine tone isn’t just for the ladies, it also looks great as a a detail in menswear. The soft color breaks up the intensity in pieces with a harsh and masculine palette such as navy blue and hunter green. This color was used in the collections of Tosia and Charles Youssef.
Although many people are wary of the color orange, Peach Echo is its softer cousin. This warm shade compliments a lot more than its harsh looking relative and looks better with a wider array of skin tones and colors. Rebecca Minkoff and Christian Sirirano are only a few of the designers who decided to add this playful pigment to their collections.
In the midst of calmer, less vibrant tones, Buttercup shines and stands out! This bright yellow shade contrasts wonderfully with cobalt and grey. Although it isn’t as popular amongst creative directors, Charles & Ron was one of the main fashion lines who decided to showcase it.
This usually cloudy color got a sweet spin this season when Pantone created Lilac Grey, a chalky hue with a purple undertone. Its sophistication adds variation to the collection. This color has been seen on the runways of Yoana Baraschi.
This aquatic color is named after the shell, which conveys a clean and crisp feel. Dive into Spring wearing this blueish green in collections from Ground Zero and Kung Katherine.
This my personal favorite shade included in the top ten for Spring. The red mixed with the yellow undertones creates a fiery and vivid mood that is sure to spice up your life! This color can be seen in the collections of Pamella Roland.
This light navy hue will bring you to the sea with its oceanic color. It’s purpose is to make you feel like you should escape to someplace sunny and warm- which is something we could all use in the midst of this wacky winter weather! WHIT NY ‘s interpretation is sure to send you to the beach.
This calming and cool color is like a breath of fresh air; light & satisfying! This along with Rose Quartz (shown above) were named the official colors of the year and are best known for their balance of warm and cool. It’s literally serenity from our busy and hectic lives which is why Pantone created it. Emilio Sosa is a designer who included this shade in their collection.
This a is a color that will last you through every single season of the year! You can never go wrong with a classic warm tan hue. It’s earthiness and name is enough to energize you in even the worst of mornings. Mocha maniacs- this one’s for you! You can find this color in the collection of Noon by Noor.
This fresh and nature inspired shade is sure to put a spring in your step! Green Flash is supposed to give you a lust for adventure and exploring and show nature’s growing influence on the world. Green Flash is in the collection of Nicole Miller.
